Blister Youth Ensemble is a dance company featuring improvisational and choreographic works by the members, aged 10 - 18 years old. Both entertaining and educational, performances emphasize the compositional craft of making dances in a lecture-demonstration format. Booking inquiries are welcome.

Membership in Blister Youth Ensemble is by audition only. Company members participate in the Saturday morning B.Y.E. class learning the craft of choreography and improvisation. Company members will be required to take company class and dance technique class every Saturday. Open auditions every quarter but individual auditions may be arranged by contacting us.

Company director Paul Zmolek, trained in H’Doubler Educational Dance, is recognized as an expert in Dance for Children, Improvisation and Choreography. After teaching and choreographing as an Artist-in-Schools for twelve years he, and co-director Joséphine A. Zmolek were invited by Footworks/Dancers Group, the home studio for Joe Goode Performance Group, to create and implement Z AFTERSCHOOL ARTS, an interdisciplinary performing arts academy serving the San Francisco Mission district. Paul has worked extensively as a teacher of Children’s Dance educators at California State Univerisity, San Bernardino; The California Arts Project; the California Dance Educators Association and Southeast Missouri State University.
