New Location, New Faculty, New Classes and New Rates for the New Year

We opened at our new location December 1st with a day of dance featuring returning and new classes and faculty. The move and remodeling effort was helped immensely by several students, friends and family. We are especially grateful to Jeanne for creating such a beautiful fused glass panel that is now on permanent display by our office door and for volunteering "big" and "little" John to join in the fun. Jason, Katie, Jenn, Steve, Bob, Jerry, John, Jeanne, Mary, Peter, Cecelia, Stephanie and Jamie lent their muscle and sweat on various occasions and Chuck, our very own MacGyver, made it all possible. Bill must have thought that he had agreed to a near permanent loan of his "Big Rig" throughout the process. Thanks much to all of you who made our move a wonderful adventure.

Our current art exhibition is Rent Asunder by Josephine A. Zmolek - 54 textured and painted sheetrock panels and a large sheet of wallpaper made from recycled Trader Joe's brown bags that had once been incorporated into the original location of Barefoot Studios.

We are pleased to welcome new faculty Wendy, Marla, Amanda and Olivia who each bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, training and talent to share. New classes for adults and/or youth include: Jazz, Barefoot Beat, Free Fall, Pilates and Floor Barre. Our new location features two sprung wood studios which will allow us to expand our class offerings. Stay tuned as we are in discussion with other instructors who may bring new and exciting forms of dance to Tacoma.

Our lower costs at the new location has allowed us to lower our tuition rates on our class cards and offer student and military discounts. We hope this entices you to take full advantage of many class offerings throughout the week.

Katie and Tracey will begin "holding services" with The Church of Perpetual Motion, an all-ages dance jam every other Sunday morning. We are still exploring new ways of offering 10X10 performance workshop and will make an announcement soon about when, where and how the series will recommence.

Callous Physical Theatre will produce Train, an interdisciplinary performance installation supported, in part by the Tacoma and Washington State Arts Commissions in May, 2007 at Barefoot Studios and sites around Tacoma.

Thank you for your continued interest and support,

Paul and Joséphine
